RESOLUTION

Taking into account

- that in the future technological development can not be restricted to national or regional frameworks; - that industrialised countries with their economic structure are best able to promote technological progress; - that not all countries in the world are able to promote technological progress to the same extent; - that the efforts of developing countries to reduce the technological gap in relation to the developed countries should be promoted; - that it is necessary to ensure that all countries are able to benefit from the results of technological progress;

THE CONFERENCE REQUESTS THE EUROPEAN PATENT ORGANISATION

to make use of all the possibilities available to it to help the developing countries, irrespective of their geographical location, in particular as concerns documentation, the training of staff and all other means likely to bring these countries increasingly closer to the highly developed countries.
